Born in Launceston in 1951, David Keeling currently resides and works in Hobart alongside his wife and fellow artist, Helen Wright. Regarded as one of Tasmania's distinguished artists, Keeling is renowned for his compelling depiction of the Tasmanian landscape and his distinctive approach to figuration, weaving narratives within his artistic creations.

Employing an artistic language influenced by classicism, Keeling's work skillfully reveals and articulates the poignant, surreal poetry inherent in the Tasmanian environment. Moreover, his art serves as a medium to convey the intricate stories of Australia's history, exploring themes of invasion and ecological upheaval.
