Born in Broken Hill in 1928, Pro Hart dedicated himself to full-time painting in 1958. Drawing inspiration from his upbringing and experiences in the NSW mining town, his artistic repertoire encompassed diverse subjects, ranging from landscapes, seas, ants, and dragonflies to depictions of mining grounds, workers, religious scenes, political events, and snapshots from his travels.

Recognized for his contributions to art, Pro Hart was awarded an MBE in 1976 and received an Honorary Life Membership of Society International Artistique in 1982. In 1983, he was honored with the Australian Citizen of the Year Award.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Pro Hart found joy in painting, sculpting, exploring creative performance arts, collecting vintage cars and motorbikes, and maintaining physical fitness through weightlifting. These varied interests are evident in the breadth of his life's work.
